For my files, which color profile should I use?

Although we can accept files in several color spaces, all system actions are performed in RGB (red, green, and blue). If you submit a file that is CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), please note that our system will convert it to RGB and that there may be a noticeable change in color.

We advise the following to provide the best color-accurate print output possible:

  1. Use RGB color mode when creating your design.
  2. In your designing app, switch the design to CMYK color mode to see how it would appear printed. This will let you get a general concept of how the color will change when printed.
  3. Revert the color mode adjustments, then export the artwork using the RGB color profile.

What type of print files does UInPrint require?

JPEG, PNG, and SVG are the file formats that are supported.

  • While 300 DPI is the suggested resolution for JPEG/PNG files, a file with a lesser resolution could work just fine (depending on the product). The required resolution for products that require large-sized files (such as blankets, tapestries, or leggings) is between 120 and 150 DPI.
  • If you want to use a design with a low resolution, we will automatically improve the print file quality before submitting the order to production, making it better suited for printing. But, we advise adhering to each product’s unique print file specifications and using high-resolution drawings when possible.
  • We advise utilizing Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW for producing or editing SVG format files.
  • Using SVG format files for raster pictures and photos is not advised. Please upload your raster images in JPEG or PNG format if they make up the majority of your material.

How do I use the design templates?

You can request a design template of PNG and AI files from us. Once we have provided you the design template, follow the below steps:

You can use any image editing software, including commercial applications like Adobe Photoshop and its equivalent, or free internet tools like Canva, Adobe Express, or Photopea, to open and edit these templates.

An example of the file opened in Adobe Photoshop is shown below.

When the template opens, you can add your artwork. The simplest method is to drag it into the design software you are using. Ensure that all of the bleed regions are covered with the background color and that the key design elements are positioned inside the safe area (dashed line).

Before exporting from Adobe Photoshop, turn off the guide and background layers once the design placement on the product is complete. Before exporting, remove the template picture in other editing programs.

Now you’re able to upload your final design to UInPrint. Open the product page of your choice and upload it on the provided dropzone area.

What are the recommended guidelines for stickers?

  • If you don’t want to preserve the white background, we advise using your design to fill the complete printing area. You can prevent any blank spaces in the finished work in this method.
  • Important information should always be kept in the safe region, which is shown by the dashed line. There’s no chance of it getting clipped here. Anything outside of this area ought to be saved for backdrop hues.
  • Make sure the file has a transparent backdrop in PNG format.
  • Make sure the file is free of any residue or particles.
  • You can only post a single file, thus if your design concept has several components, you will need to integrate them into a single file before uploading.
  • Elements in your design that are far apart will be carved out as distinct objects.
  • Steer clear of designs that have negative space between parts, like the one below illustrates. Often, the lasers won’t be precise enough to take these factors into consideration.
  • Kiss-cut stickers allow you to create any form you want, but keep in mind that a white or transparent buffer zone will surround your design parts.
  • Take care to consider the distance between objects if you wish to incorporate multiple designs into a single sticker. For each object to be cut out individually, there must be a minimum of:
    2×2″ sticker – 65 PX
    3×3″ sticker – 110 PX
    4×4″ sticker – 150 PX
    6×6″ sticker – 200 PX
  • To ensure that the minimum spacing requirements are met, think about adding the designs to a single print file before producing the product.

  • The objects must be at least 75 PX (0.25″) apart in order to be cut out individually.

What are the design guidelines for ceramic ornaments?

Over the holidays, our ceramic ornaments are always a huge hit. And it’s understandable why—these ornaments will undoubtedly offer a special touch to any Christmas tree and make wonderful personalized presents for your loved ones.

Though there are a lot of design options, it’s important to be aware of some restrictions. To ensure that your ornaments turn out amazing, have a look at our list of design dos and don’ts.

Design dos

  • When you can, try to use vibrant colors.
  • When working with text on a white backdrop, employ strong, bold lines.
  • Patterns that fill the full print area will perform best because a precise symmetry cannot be ensured due to the hand positioning method.
  • Images can also be used, and they look great next to the glossy surface of the product.
  • Unless you want to maintain the white backdrop, make sure your design fills the whole Product Creator template. You can prevent any blank spaces in the finished work in this method.
  • Retain the crucial components of the design in the safe zone (the area enclosed by the dashed line). There’s no chance of it getting clipped here. Anything outside of this area ought to be saved for backdrop hues.

Design don’ts

  • Designs that depend on extremely accurate placement should be avoided because there could be a small discrepancy (up to 5 mm).
  • Steer clear of gradients, especially when working with light colors, as the material and printing method’s peculiarities could result in a rather hazy final product.
  • To create a crisp, clear result, keep in mind the small size of the product and refrain from utilizing tiny, delicate elements and lines.

Which printing techniques are applied on tumblers and bottles?

Sublimation and UV printing are the two primary printing techniques used to imprint on bottles and tumblers.

Sublimation

The technique of sublimation, which is also called dye sublimation, involves printing an image on paper, then using heat treatment to transfer it onto a product rather than printing directly on top of it. The product surface can usually be printed on in its entirety.

UV printing

In UV printing, ink is dried or cured during the printing process by means of ultraviolet radiation. The print is not a decal or sticker; rather, it is put directly to the goods.

Since no toxic fumes are created during the printing process, UV printing is regarded as environmentally safe. The inks provide better fading resistance and harden practically instantly after application.

Note: Due to the specifics of this printing method, faint horizontal lines or grains may be visible up-close in the print.

What are all-over-print (AOP) products?

All-over printing, or AOP for short, is a popular printing technique used on a variety of goods, including t-shirts, leggings, socks, and more. Another name for it is dye sublimation.

How is AOP different from DTG?

You are not restricted to certain print regions, unlike with direct-to-garment (DTG) printing. Usually, printing is possible across the entire product surface. This is why AOP goods benefit most from repeating patterns.

The printing technique requires synthetic materials, such as polyester, hence these are usually used. Conversely, DTG products mostly use natural cotton fibers.

Clothes are typically “cut & sew”. This suggests that the fabric used to create the garment is printed with a design before being utilized to create the garment.

Please be aware that some of the pattern markings used to direct the sewing process may be visible on the inside of the AOP garments due to their hand-sewn construction.

Pros

  • The whole product surface can be printed.
  • Vibrant, long-lasting color outcome.
  • Since dyes are used in the printing process, the design is incorporated into the fabric.
  • Very few designing limitations.

Cons

  • Limited choice of fabric material options.
  • It is not advised to use dark colors—that is, a dark background—because the pattern is printed on white cloth. These objects may display white lines between your image’s patterns when stretched.
  • To guarantee a satisfactory result, huge products will need large, high-quality print files.

What are the limitations of all-over printing (AOP)?

AOP, sometimes referred to as dye sublimation, is a printing method that yields remarkably vivid and durable prints. AOP goods are usually manufactured by printing the fabric, then cutting and stitching the item. Socks are one example of an exception, though.

To get the finest results, keep in mind that there are certain limitations, just like with every printing technique.

Remember that solid colors and repeating patterns are ideal for AOP items. Larger design components can still be used, but only if they are not at the collar/cuff or seam area where they could get cut off.

Some slight shifting of the design placement may happen because the cut and sew procedure is manual. Important items shouldn’t be placed near the collar or cuff area because of this.

An additional constraint to take into account is the potential for wrap-around design features. It won’t be able to accomplish the exact alignment seen in the mockup preview if you put a crucial design element—like text—across the seam or zip area.

It is not advised to utilize designs that call for centered placement on the product because the location of the design is not guaranteed to match that of the mockup and may change.

Several blank items, like t-shirts, leggings, hoodies, and so on, are initially white and are subsequently printed with your chosen colors and patterns. Given that the garment is white, adding a vibrant color or pattern—like pitch-black—on top of it can occasionally result in a gray or charcoal gray tone.

This is because white fabric prevents the black ink from penetrating completely, reducing the opaqueness of the black tone. To put it briefly, the white fabric remains visible through the ink, creating a more translucent tone.

  • Be mindful of placing important design elements too close to the edge of the safe area. Placing the design too close may result in a part of your design being cut off, even if it doesn’t appear to be cut in the preview images.
  • Avoid using text designs that are too small or too thin, especially when the design will be printed on a black background. If the design is too small or too thin, it may result in blurred or unrecognizable text when printed. We strongly recommend a minimum font size of 5 px, but using larger font sizes will ensure that your design turns out as intended.
  • Always be sure to preview the design in CMYK color mode to understand how the colors might look once printed.
